Avijit Mitra (3rd Dan)

Chief Instructor and one of the founder member of the organisation.

Avijit, a professional Karate Teacher (4th Dan, S.K.I.F. under the legendary Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa) came in contact with Sylvie Wiedemann in 1990 while he was teaching Karate at Calcutta Judo Club. The aesthetics movement and the amazing techniques demonstrated by Sylvie immediately compelled him to fall in love with Aikido. On his request Sylvie started training Aikido at Calcutta Judo club to a handful of students, mainly from the practitioners of Karate and Judo. From 1992 Avijit started learning Aikido regularly under Pascal Mennesson Sensei, who was kind enough to come to Kolkata under special request from Andre Cognard Shihan of Academie Autonome d'Aikido, France. After getting permission from Andre Congnard Shihan, Avijit started training Aikido at Calcutta Judo Club regularly. He was also responsible in forming Academy of Aikido (India).

Debabrata Saha (2nd Dan)

Instructor and one of the founder member of the organisation.

Debabrata Saha (Bappa) joined Aikido while he was learning Judo at Calcutta Judo Club. A First Dan in Judo, Debabrata was a regular Judo player, being participated successfully in various Judo competitions, before joining the Aikido classes under Sylvie Wiedemann. After joining Aikido, Debabrata , like Avijit, fell in love with Aikido, and there was no looking back. Debabrata is the Vice President of the organsiation. At present, he is also teaching Aikido to kids at a reputed school.

Arunava Sengupta (1st Dan)

Arunava Sengupta is a serious aikidoka and an active member of the academy.

Anindya Banerjee (1st Dan)

Anindya Banerjee joined the academy in 1994 and till then he is an active member of the academy. At present he is one of the instructors and the Treasurer of the Academy.

Utpal Chakraborty (1st Dan)

A professional Karate teacher (4th Dan), Utpal Chakraborty joined the Academy in 1993 and is one of the founder member of the academy. He is now the Instructor and Honorary General Secretary of the academy.

Debraj Majumdar (1st Dan)

Debraj Majumdar is an active member of the academy. A serious aikido practitioner and one of the instructors of the academy. At present he is in Dubai for his professional job and teaching aikido in a dojo in Dubai.

Dhirren Bose (1st Dan)

A dedicated aikidoka who has recently received his Shodan from Cognard Shihan. Dhirren is also a 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate. At present Dhirren is the Vice President of this academy

Indranil Ghosh (1st Dan)

Practising for a long time, Indranil has recently received his Shodan from Cognard Shihan.
