Training

A class starts with basic warm up exercises (Aiki-Taiso) which is very typical in the style of Kobayashi's Aikido. The exercises are followed by basic rolling and falling movements (ukemi) and stepping movements (tai-sabaki). Then we go directly to the techniques. The training has different variations, like aiki-jo, aiki-ken and aikido, and sometimes on the lessons of aiki-no-jo and aiki-no-ken. The techniques of aikido are practiced on suwari waza (sitting techniques), taichi waza (standing techniques) and hanmi hantachi waza (seme on sitting position while uke in standing positions. Special care are taken for the children and the beginners.
